A few years ago, I visited the incredible island of Lanzarote, and its otherworldly beauty has stayed with me ever since. It felt like walking on the moon. This map is a collection of my memories from that trip – the stark volcanic landscapes, the deep blue of the Atlantic, and the brilliant, playful art of César Manrique that you find everywhere. To bring warmth and texture to this unique place, I created the illustration as a digital collage of my own traditional media: watercolors, pen and ink, pencil, and crayons.
